Bryce Corderoy is a former senior executive of TransGrid, the corporation responsible for the planning, design, operation and maintenance of the high voltage network in New South Wales. Since 1998 he has provided consultancy services as a Director of CHC Associates Pty Ltd.
Mr Corderoy has over 50 years experience in the electricity supply industry, initially with the Electricity Commission of New South Wales, later Pacific Power and then TransGrid, separated from Pacific Power in 1995, preparatory to the introduction of the National Electricity Market. Through CHC he has provided advice to industry organisations in the areas of plant, system development, asset management and post graduate education.
From 1990 Mr Corderoy was Manager of Transmission Engineering for Pacific Power and then General Manager Engineering Services for TransGrid until 1998. This role involved the oversight and development of a wide range of technologies associated with the area of transmission networks for the realisation of the ongoing adequacy of the New South Wales high voltage system. Earlier roles related to asset management, plant procurement, system planning, project management and the response to community concerns regarding the impact of projects on the environment.
As Manager/Strategic Planning for the Electricity Commission then Pacific Power, Mr Corderoy was responsible for the development of the first integrated long term generation plan for New South Wales and then for putting in place actions to implement activities given fresh impetus by the plan.
Mr. Corderoy was involved for some years in the development of the Australian Power Institute as a response to concerns regarding the training of graduates for the future needs of the electricity supply industry. This followed his involvement with Cigre at a national and international level, for a period as Chairman of the Australian Technical Committee, coordinating the activities of the Australian Panels in the fifteen individual technical disciplines. In the above roles, and now with CHC, he has been involved in the organisation of high level technical courses, involving world experts.
Mr Corderoy has formal qualifications in electrical engineering, management and legal matters.
